Welcome
I am an Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) and an accredited franchisee of RED Driving School. I deliver driving tuition under the brands of RobWDriving and RED Driving Driving School. My primary objective is to consistently deliver high standard driving tuition, ensuring customers can make the most of their learning opportunities to become safer drivers.
I have been a full licence holder since 1994, having extensive experience with both manual & automatic. I also hold a Category A (full motorcycle) licence.
During my service in the Police I obtained the following driving qualifications;
I am a member of IAM RoadSmart, the Institute of Advanced Motorists and Advanced Driver certified. IAM RoadSmart is the UK’s leading road safety charity and advocate, helping to improve driving and riding skills through courses and coaching.
In March 2025, I completed an Advanced Driving course and earned an Advanced Driving Diploma accredited by DriveTech and the DVSA.

Refresher, Motorway & Pass Plus
RobWDriving offers Refresher, Motorway and Pass Plus lessons for Full Licence Holders seeking to improve their overall driving experience and those seeking to build confidence. In-Car training comprises an initial evaluation with feedback provided. Further lessons are available with no obligation to undertake.
Motorway lessons are 2.5 hours due to time and distance including a debrief.
Pass Plus | Six modules covering town & city roads, dual carriageways, rural roads, motorways and all-weather driving with the DVSA Pass Plus driving scheme.

On the 16th January 2025 I had an amazing opportunity to speak with Aaron Paul on BBC Radio London about the current driving test waiting times, driving lesson waiting times and how to prepare for getting on the road.
In March 2025 I had the opportunity to join Claer Barrett (financial journalist and broadcaster) at Brooklands, Weybridge to support her journey getting back behind the wheel and building confidence. The driving lesson was aired on Lorraine in June 2025.

Yes. You must provide a minimum of 48 hours’ notice to reschedule or cancel a booking. If the cancellation notice is within 48 hours it is the instructors discretion as to whether the lesson payment will be held due to the short notice or refunded back to you.

Everyone learns at different rates so to set a number on how many lessons you would need is unknown. Your instructor will help you prepare for your test by working through the driving syllabus and confirm once you are ready for the test. The DVSA have provided the below to help;
You’ll usually be ready to take your driving test when:
- You do not need prompts from your driving instructor.
- You do not make serious or dangerous mistakes when you’re driving.
- You can pass mock driving tests.
- You have practised ways of managing your nerves.
- Your driving instructor agrees you are ready.
Yes. You can begin your driving lessons prior to taking your theory test but it is advisable to take your theory test sooner as you will not be able to book your driving test until you have passed the theory test. The current driving test waiting times is on average approximately 5 to 6 months.
